Julie AbalamaJulie is a 2007 graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Pain Management (PSPM), the only institution at the time specializing in training individuals without a medical background to become certified myofascial trigger point therapists. The program was both rigorous and comprehensive, designed to be completed in one year rather than the typical four years. Students, including Julie, began hands-on work with teachers from day one, tested daily, and started treating patients by the second quarter.
Julie's journey into trigger point therapy began after her mother experienced life-changing results from treatment at a clinic in Alaska. Inspired by her mother's transformation, Julie pursued this path to help others manage and overcome pain. After graduating, Julie opened her own trigger point therapy business, which she ran until late 2020.
For over 11 years, Julie has been a dedicated member of the TLC team, continuously enhancing her expertise by taking advanced trigger point therapy courses each year. This ongoing education ensures she stays up to date with the latest techniques and knowledge, enabling her to provide the best care possible to her patients.
One of the key benefits of trigger point therapy is that it can be performed through clothing, allowing for greater freedom of movement during treatment and eliminating concerns about draping for range-of-motion testing. Julie's ultimate goal is to help her patients regain pain-free movement and live their lives to the fullest, free from the discomfort of myofascial trigger points.

Duane CarrDuane Carr is from Nine Mile Falls, Washington, and attended Lakeside High School, and then Post Falls High School for his senior year. He was a proud member of the wrestling team for both schools and won the state for his team at 189lbs.
Duane is happily married to his wife, Elizabeth. He came to Alaska when she was stationed at Elmendorf-Richardson AFB. He decided to attend Alaska Career College for massage therapy and graduated in April 2025. He is passionate about helping those living with pain to find relief and be able to go about their daily lives with a better range of motion.
Duane's approach to massage is to not only relieve what is hurting, but also help the supporting muscles. It's not about using the most pressure; it's about using the appropriate amount of pressure to allow the muscles to properly heal and find relief.
